Burgau is a small fishing village lying 5 miles west of Lagos, where the pace of life has hardly changed over the years. You can still see the fishermen of the village painting their boats and mending their nets on the slipway that leads to the vast stretch of sand that lies in the heart of its cove. You will often be offered freshly grilled fish on street barbecues caught that day by friendly villagers.

Burgau’s uniqueness lies in its charm to appeal to almost everyone regardless of there interests and time in life.

It nestles on the edge of a National Park and because it is still a working fishing village you can still watch the boats out at sea in the moonlight seeking their catches, and this is a sight which produces wonderful memories.

The beach is beautiful with a vast sandy expanse and yet it is shielded from the characteristic winds of Barlavento by the surrounding hills.
